Born near Barcelona, Jordi Mollà studied acting at the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona and began his career with appearances at the Lliure Theater and various television roles. Since his leading role in the internationally successful Jamon Jamon (1992), he has mainly been active in movies and has appeared in American works since 2000. For example, he played Diego Delgado in Blow (2001), drug lord Johnny Tapia in Bad Boys II (2003) and in 2007 the fanatical King Philip II of Spain in Elizabeth – The Golden Kingdom (2007). In 2008 he appeared as Capitano Mario Barga in Che Guerrilla. In 2022 Mollà will be seen as one of the leading roles in the film The Alchemist, produced by, amongst others, Will Smith.

Due his performances, he received a nomination for best supporting actor (“Celestina” 1997) and three nominations for best leading actor for the Spanish film award Gyoa for his appearances in “La Buena Estrela” (1998), “Peel” (2000) and “Sodom Palace “(2010).

Actor, director, writer and artist – Jordi Mollà represents all of these roles. As diverse as he is in his hobbies and professions, so is his art. He moves between different techniques, ranging from intervening photography to abstract expressionism to works that are made entirely with his feet.
